Thank you to Linda from Calling It Home for hosting another great One Room Challenge. There are some great submissions! After viewing all of the amazing room progress, I felt like my room was falling short. Feeling flat. Boring. So on Thursday at roughly 2:37PM I decided I needed to add a little visual interest and professionally sketched out my idea, using only the best materials and techniques:
Dirty napkin found on floorboard of car, sketched in car pool with child's marker |
After quickly stopping at Home Depot for the third time in two days (and to the collective groans of my children), at 8:59PM I had this:
I Love My Miter Saw |
I chose to paint the room a pale blue, which can be very tricky due to the undertones in the color and the fact that blue multiplies when on the walls. I ended up selecting Benjamin Moore's First Snowfall, which pairs beautifully with the green I chose for the bamboo cabinet.
Each day packages have been arriving from fabulous places like Rejuvenation, Pottery Barn, and one of my favorite Etsy sellers, CalicoDaisy. I won't share too many of the fun details, but will just give you a little glimpse of the following:
With that I will bid you farewell until next week. In the meantime, while I frantically try to get this room completed, please be sure to visit the other One Room Challenge participants to cheer them to the finish line.
If you would like to see where my room started, you can see Week One, Week Two, Week Three, and Week Four.
Oh my! That trimming design looks so much like Albertina's table skirt detail too! It is gorgeous Kimber, and you pulled it off fabulously! We're almost there, CHEERS and advance happy Mothers day!
ReplyDeleteThat millwork though!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh the moulding is looking great and I can’t wait for the reveal! I love the direction the space is going in. As a fellow ORC participant it’s been wonderful to gather some fantastic inspiration. I’d love for you to share your progress at Thoughts of Home on Thursday. Our readers would love to see it. The gathering is at http://www.decortoadore.net
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you made the wall motif! I really love the green cabinet, though. My favorite piece ... along side the towels. -- michele
