Welcome to week four of the One Room Challenge Linking Event hosted by the talented Linda of Calling It Home. For this challenge I decided to re-do my laundry room and hallway. If you'd like, you can catch up on weeks One, Two and Three.
What The Hell was I thinking going on vacation for two of the six weeks during the One Room Challenge? Oh, maybe that I am super woman (I'm not) or that I would get so much done before I left and be ahead of the game (I didn't). So, here I am, not very far along...at all. And I only have two weeks until the reveal. Good thing I am heading home from Colorado on Saturday (boo! hiss!)
Did I mention that I hate sheetrock repair? Oh, yes, I did so last week. And I might again next week. Why? Because Mud. Sand. Mud. Sand. Mud. Sand. This vicious cycle absolutely sucks. It actually kind of reminds me of Sandgate that happened to Mrs. Chez V last ORC Linking Party.
I. Hate. Sheetrock. Repair. |
Yep, still hate it. |
The good news is that we are almost done. And I use the term "we" loosely as it has been my parents doing the mudding and sanding as I've been 2,000 miles away in Colorado.
And since we are almost done, we can start with this stuff.
Let's look at my to-do list, shall we? You'd better get a glass of wine for this one. Don't worry, I'll wait. Here goes:
- Finish effing sheetrock repair
- Hang moulding & board & batten
- Replace tile
- Caulk moulding
- Paint
- Hang wallpaper
- Change doors on washer/dryer
- Make table for folding
- New storage & shelving
- Make it pretty
- Photograph it
- Burn the midnight oil
Be sure to check out the other One Room Challenge Linking Participants and the One Room Challenge Folks as well!
I Hate Sheetrock Repair,
Kimber
Wow, you are insane! I am leaving for one night next week and having panic attacks about that little trip. I am sure this will be crazy good for the reveal.
ReplyDeleteI hate it too and I've never done it. Just walking through a room where its been done turns your nose hairs white. Don't stress. It's only decorating. And those hooligans are the perfect diversion!

Enjoy your vacation..I know you will pull this off beautifully!!
ReplyDeleteYou need to add "enjoy celebratory glass of wine when finished" to your list! Enjoy the time with your kiddos and thank goodness for helpful parents. Can they come to my house?!
ReplyDeleteSo … how do you feel about sheetrock repair???!! I hear you … but what a wonderful crew you have cheering you up while your parents do the work. I think that is absolutely brilliantly planned!! Enjoy your last few days of vacay!
ReplyDeleteThose are the cutest hooligans I ever did see! Yes, I will confirm that you are nuts. As am I. My list is as long. But how happy will we be when all is done? I can't WAIT to see this done. You can do. Just put on more coffee.
ReplyDeleteHey...vacation trumps ORC! On the other hand your list is scaring me:) And on the subject of sheetrock.....I agree.
ReplyDeleteHa. Just spit out my wine. Here's hoping Sheetrockgate comes to a close quickly.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be so gorgeous, Kimber!! I love everything you do!!
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
The Glam Pad
I do not envy that sheetrock work. That's the thing that brings my projects to a crawl every time… You will finish though and it's going to look fabulous when it's done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute family! I have to admit it's refreshing and encouraging I'm not the only one that was out of town for 10 days and doing 6 week ORC! I have several items on my "to do list" that need to be completed. I know you're room will look great!
ReplyDeleteI can soooo relate to your story - I didn't think about the fact that I'd be traveling 3 of the 6 weekends....AND since I work 12 hour days, I NEED those weekends to work on my laundry room makeover! At least I am assured that I am in good company and others are struggling to find time as well. This room is going to look great when you finish! I can't wait to see the final reveal. Good luck to you!

You would think somebody would invent something better than sheetrock and mud. I hate it too. The moulding looks great.
ReplyDeleteSandgate!!! LOL!!!! Hope u had a great trip!
ReplyDeleteYou are a genius, to figure out how to go on vacation and have your parents work. Since I stalk you on the Gram, I know how amazing this is looking. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteHa! I know how you feel. I'm gone this weekend. I've been trying to keep on track but I know it's going to be a mad scramble at the end. My poor husband!! Wishing you luck to finish:)
ReplyDeleteWe had the same idea. Hit the road! You've been working hard girlfriend.
